Anne Henry, Senior VP & Chief Government Affairs Officer, Leading Age PA has sent us this urgent message.
We know it is short notice, but a provider coalition which includes Leading Age PA, is holding a rally inside the Capitol in Harrisburg to discuss the negative consequences of the US Senate's Medicaid Reform Plan. The details of the rally are below. If a few PARCR members could show up and stand on the steps in the Rotunda, that would be tremendous.
Location: State Capitol Rotunda (501 N. Third Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120)
Date and Time: July 19, 2017 at 11 a.m.
Please notify all of your interested friends. All CCRC residents are welcome.
The Senate is scheduled to vote this month on health care reform that could end Medicaid as we know it by converting it to a per capita cap or block grant. Proposals under consideration would cut Medicaid by hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade.
Under this proposal, every state would lose federal funding, forcing states to cut back on services for seniors and people with disabilities covered by Medicaid as well as reimbursement to providers. LeadingAge strongly opposes these changes to Medicaid. We urge Congress to protect Medicaid and ensure that older adults have access to the essential long-term services and supports they need.
It is critical that your Senators hear from you now!
